A shaped article is made by injection moulding of a thermoplastic moulding composition comprising a mixture of (a) a linear saturated polyester of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and, optionally, a small amount of an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid with a saturated aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diol, and (b) 0.6 to 15% by weight, based on the polyester, of soot, which preferably has a particle size of less than 2 microns. The composition may be coated with paraffin or polyethylene wax and may contain up to 20% of a copolymer of ethylene and an acrylic ester or of butadiene and styrene. Preferred polyesters are polyethylene terephthalate and polycyclohexane - 1,4 - dimethylol terephthalate. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,000,101. |
