The use of a compound having the formula wherein R<1> and R<3> are independently hydrogen, or wherein Ar is optionally substituted phenyl; R<2> is selected-from the group consisting of pyrrolidino and piperidino; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, in the preparation of a medicament useful for inhibiting LDL oxidation.
