In the present invention there is disclosed a membrane of ion-selective electrode for determination of amino acid concentration and optical purity comprising a neutral polymeric carrier, a softening agent and an additive. The invented membrane contains as active substance 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of S stereoisomer of 1,1'binaphthalene-2,2'-diol (binaphthol) of the general formula I, in which Re1, Re2 are selected from a group comprising hydrogen, hydroxyl, methoxyl, aldehyde group, carboxyl, carboxyethyl, glycolyl, oligoethylenyl (having 2 to 10 ethylene units), phenyl, substituted phenyl and Re3 to Re14 are selected from a group comprising hydrogen and alkyl containing 1 to 18 carbon atoms.
