The frame for automobile seats comprises one or more shaped plastic elements which are releasably installed into a wire frame. Nuts serving for attachment of the seat frame to automobile body elements are welded directly to wires. The plastic shaped elements have a surface whose structure is varied dependent on whether a coating is to be applied to a particular surface region. Furthermore, these elements are constituted so that they can accommodate airbags and cabling for these airbags.
