The bleeding and filling valve assembly has at least one passage with an opening which is sealed off by a valve(10) activated and maintained by the pressure of fluid present in the system. During bleeding of the system the valve is located in its open position in relation to a valve disc(30) so that air in the low pressure circuit in the valve flows past to the master cylinder connection(42). After bleeding of the system pressure difference on the opposite sides of the valve moves it into its closed position. An Independent claim is included for the procedure for bleeding a hydraulic brake system.
