The temporary splint (1), for limbs and body extremities such as fingers (2) and toes, has fixing shells (5) fitted at opposite sides of the affected member (2). In the fitting position (7) where the member (2) is inserted, the shells (5) swing into a holding position in relation to each other to be locked in place by a holder (8) in a release action. Each shell (5) has a number of curved fixing arms (10) projecting from a fixed strap (11), with the ends (12) of the arms (10) gripping together. At least the fixing arms are of a plastics material with a cladding.
