<p>The circuit-breaker proper is contained in a vertical insulating chamber (2), in turn mounted on the square top flange of a metal casing (3), in turn mounted on the square top flange of a metal casing (3). The operating mechanism and controls are housed in a metal cabinet (6), fixed to the side of the casing either directly or through a stand-off bracket (7). The operating shaft extends horizontally through the cabinet rear wall, coaxially with a drive-shaft projecting from the casing, which it drives, e.g. through a splined coupling. All the items so far mentioned are assembled at the factory as one unit, to which, supported horizontally on site, 4 independent supporting legs (4) are attached, each being held by two screws tightened in holes in the edges of the casing's top and bottom flanged ends. The complete assembly is lifted and positioned vertically on feet (5) at the ends of the legs, on the final position. Opt., the casing flanges are triangular in plan, and only 3 legs are fitted.</p> |
