摘要 Reflectometric measurement of an optical parameter by interference spectroscopy uses an optical converter (1) to produce a frequency or phase modulated signal corresponding to the value of the parameter is new. Visible light is passed through the converter over a time interval, during which its wavelength or frequency varies, to produce a modulated spectrum. Reference values of the modulated spectrum are determined at the beginning of the time interval and throughout it. Alterations in the modulated spectrum at the beginning of the time interval are calculated using linear interference calculations based on acceptable fluctuations in one or more of the operating parameters of the system. Independent claims are included for: (a) a computer program for carrying out the method; (b) a data carrier on which the computer program is stored; (c) an optical converter for use in the process; and (d) a spectrometer fitted with the optical converter.
