The side channel machine (1) has at least one rotor wheel (7) having a hub part (6) and a ring of peripheral rotor vanes (4), the stator (2) of the electric drive motor for the side channel machine contained within the housing of the latter for direct rotation of the rotor wheel, together with a supply and/or monitoring module (8). The supply and monitoring module may be positioned between the external rotor drive motor and the housing of the side channel machine, provided by a hood (11) having openings for cooling air.
