An educational kit containing Ztsg1 gene and optionally, a Ztsg1 polypeptide, antibody, and anti-idiotypic antibody. Tumor necrosis factor-stimulated protein (Ztsg1), polynucleotides that encode it and antibodies, which bind to it. Ztsg1 can be administered to an individual to stimulate the immune system. Antibodies to Ztsg1 can be used to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis in an individual.
