PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high density color toner having good color reproducibility, an ink for ink jet and a metallic complex dye used in the ink, ensuring good image fastness such as light, heat and moisture resistances and having a high molar extinction coefficient and the optimum spectral absorption characteristics in color reproduction. SOLUTION: The color toner comprises at least a resin and a colorant containing at least one metallic complex dye of formula I.
