PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make efficiently illuminable an original with uniform and bright illumination light. SOLUTION: This illumination device uses a cylindrical light transmission body which has a light incident surface of a light source on the end face and the light exit surface on the longitudinal flank and has a saw tooth-shaped light reflection surface on the surface facing the light exit surface. The sectional shape in a short side direction exclusive of the light exit surface of the light transmission body of the illumination device described above is formed to a shape including 2 to 4 circles or elliptical arcs varying in radii of curvature or central positions. |
