PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the noise of a gear train disposed across plural brackets. SOLUTION: A disk recording or reproducing device is provided with a motor M, the gear train 4 for transmitting the torque of this motor M to a member to be driven and the plural brackets 2 and 3 for holding the gear train 4 on a chassis 1. The gear train 4 is disposed across the plural brackets 2 and 3. A positioning mechanism for most adequately holding the meshing of the gears of the gear train 4 is disposed between the adjacent brackets 2 and 3. This positioning mechanism has a supporting shaft 50 which is coaxial with the first gear 5 on the one bracket 3 and a recessed groove 23 which is formed integrally on the bracket 2 holding the second gear 6 meshed with the first gear 5 and into which the supporting shaft 50 is fitted.
