METHOD OF PRODUCING OPTICAL FIBER ARRAY AND IMAGE SENSOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the production of an optical fiber array and to obtain a small-sized thin image sensor using that fiber array at a lower cost. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array 3 is produced from a plastic optical fiber having no distribution of the refractive index in the core of the optical fiber by using techniques of winding wires. The image sensor is constituted by disposing light-accepting sensors 4 on the extended line of the optical axis of the optical fiber array 3 into one-to-one relation of the optical fiber constituting the optical fiber array 3 and the light-accepting sensor 4.
