PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for thermally transfer recording for attaining an image member having an image including high clarity or/and no curl by a high light transmissive film having a small positional deviation of a recording dot, an intermediate medium and a protective film. SOLUTION: The method for thermally transfer recording comprises the steps of recording an image on the image receiving layer of the intermediate medium by using a transparent film made of a thermosetting resin as the base material of the medium or the protective film, and then integrating the medium with the image member, or laminating the protective film on the image before or after the image is recorded on the member. The intermediate medium is the transparent film made at the base material of a thermosetting resin or an ultraviolet curable or radiation curable film and the protective film is used.
