PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas diffusion electrode for fuel cells which is operable at a large current density. SOLUTION: This gas diffusion electrode for fuel cells containing a porous solid polymer electrolyte having three-dimensional communicating holes and catalytic substance, contains electron conductive polymer in the holes of the solid polymer electrolyte.
