PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever, having a spring which will not be slipped off from an installation part in the rotation of a stopper and energizing force and direction of the spring which will not be changed or be changed slightly, in a shift lever device in which hitting sound of a solenoid is not generated, when the shift lever is in a P position and a brake is depressed, and a large pressing force is not applied to the plunger, even if the stopper is rotated to the over-stroke position when the shift lever is in the P position. SOLUTION: A shift lever device is provided with a solenoid 10, having a plunger 12, cam member 20 to be integrally moved with the shift lever, stopper 30 having one end 30b disengageably engaged with the plunger 12 and the other end to be pressed by the cam member 20, first spring for energizing the stopper from the solenoid pressing position side to the solenoid releasing position side, second spring 70 for always energizing the plunger 12 to the pressing direction side and is composed of a torsion spring.
