PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for measuring and controlling a melted glass flow passing through a front oven, which can easily be adopted in a system for supplying to plural ovens and does not need interrupt the operations of the system for producing glass products. SOLUTION: This device for controlling the melted glass flow passing through a front oven (16), wherein the front oven (16) has a chute (28) disposed therein, thus generating a difference between the levels of the melted glass on the upstream side and the downstream side of the chute (28). Sensors (44, 46) measure the levels of the melted glass on the upstream side and downstream side of the chute (28), and a controller (54) judges the melted glass flow passing through the front oven (16) as a function of the level difference of the melted glass between both the sensors (44, 46) in response to the sensors (44, 46). The glass flow passing through the front oven (16) is controlled as the function of the level difference of the glass on both the sides of the chute (28), while comparing with a desired flow set by an operator.
