PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter plate-type filtration device with high air pressing effects and a method for pressing a filtrate 50. SOLUTION: Plate filter media 4, 4 are arranged on the face and the back of an annular filter frame 5 and a plurality of water passage face grooves 10a, 10b, 10c communicating with filtrate passages 40a, 40b, 40c are arranged independently of each other in the up-and-down direction, in filter plates 2, 3 opposed to a filter gap 7 through which a stock solution is supplied from the annular filter frame 5 through the filter media 4, 4. In addition, control valves 41a, 41b are interposed in the filtrate passages 40a, 40b communicating with the water passage face grooves 10a, 10b. Thus it is possible to eliminate air leakage in an air pressure sending process by sequentially closing the control valves 41a, 41b from an upper stage in an air supply process to the filter gap 7 and thereby generate an efficient pressing action.
