PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording head and an ink-jet recording apparatus in which of resolution recording dots can be increased, a discharge velocity and a discharge direction of ink are stable, and images can be recorded at a high speed with problems because of nozzles being eliminated. SOLUTION: A laser light-generating device 24 and a condenser lens 26 are arranged below an ink-holding member 12. A bottom part of the ink-holding member 12 is constituted of a laser light guide body 30. A laser light 28 collected by the condenser lens 26 passes the laser light guide body 30 to irradiate a boundary part between the ink 18 and the laser light guide body 30, whereby bubbles 38 are generated. When impulse waves 32 generated by the bubbles 38 reach a gas-liquid interface 34, ink drops 16 are discharged from the interface 34 to a paper P. Since nozzles are not used, problems because of the nozzles are eliminated, resolution of recording dots can be increased, the discharge velocity of ink is made high, the discharge direction of ink is stabilized, and images can be recorded at the high speed. |
