PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion resistance reducing device for a ship with a moon pool capable of reducing water resistance in the moon pool, inhibiting the vibration of the hull, and providing for the desired propulsion force and navigational stability. SOLUTION: The propulsion resistance reducing device for a ship with a moon pool serving as an open section extending through the hull from the bottom of the ship to an upper deck reduces water resistance which the hull receives during navigation of the ship. The device is provided with a pair of right and left flow straightening plates whose leading portions are located fore of at least an opening in the bottom of the moon pool, the straightening plates receding fore to aft to horizontally separate a stream of water flowing along the bottom of the ship during navigation to prevent the stream of water from flowing into the opening in the bottom of the moon pool, the straightening plates being inwardly inclinedly mounted on the bottom of the ship.
