PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnesium phosphate-based glass composition good at chemical durability, having low coefficient of thermal expansion and low specific gravity, capable of firing at relatively low temperature and excellent in moldability. SOLUTION: This composition comprises 35-60 mol% P2O5, 17-50 mol% MgO, 0-25 mol% ZnO, 0-25 mol% SnOx (x is at least one of 1 or 2), 0-25 mol% MnOy (y is at least one of 1, 1.5 or 2) wherein at least one of ZnO, SnOx and MnOy is at 2-25 mold, 0-10 mol% SiO2 and 0-10 mol% B2O3 wherein at least one of SiO2 and B2O3 is at 1-10 mol%.
