PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium, an information recording method, an information reading system and an information reading method which can display and also read information while the information is invisible or hard to be seen by human eyes. SOLUTION: A bar code 20 is displayed on the rear face of a substrate 10 made from material which is difficult to transmits visible light and also satisfactorily transmits light in a near-infrared region by using a material reflects, scatters or absorbs the light in the near infrared region. The substrate 10 is irradiated with laser beams 40 in the near infrared region by a laser light source 30 and the laser beams are made to scan the substrate 10 so as to cross a bar code 20. A detector 50 detects reflected light 41 or transmitted light from the substrate 10.
