PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary structure and its construction method capable of reducing the buckling length of supports in half, improving the load support strength, and capable of reducing the number of components and securing work passages. SOLUTION: Bored flanges 10 are fixed at the described intervals in the vertical axial direction, the supports 2 extendable in sequence are fitted, and two diagonal members 17 are pivotally supported to be flared downward at the middle of a horizontal pipe 15 fitted with connecting metals 14 to the flanges 10 at both ends and connecting the supports 2 erected on both sides. Brace members 3 fitted with the connecting metals 14 to the flanges 10 at the end sections of the diagonal members 17 and scaffolding boards suspended between the horizontal pipes 15 of the opposite brace members 3 are provided. When the connecting metals 13 of the horizontal pipes 15 of the brace members 3 are connected to the upper flange 10, the connecting metals 14 of the diagonal members 17 can be connected to the lower flange 10. When this temporary structure is constructed, the buckling length of the supports 2 can be reduced in half by arranging the brace members 3 of adjacent spans to form vertical steps.
