摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the optimum inter-vehicle distance control corresponding to various traffic environments to improve the driving feeling. SOLUTION: When a driver operates an acceleration SW twice, a correction amountαbecomes an integrated value (positive value) ofαstep+ for the increase by two times, and a value obtained by adding the correction amountαto an upper limit value ATmax is regarded as a target acceleration AT0 used in the inter-vehicle distance control, though a computed value of the target acceleration AT0 is guarded by the upper limit value ATmax. When a deceleration SW is operated three times, the correction amountαbecomes an integrated value (negative value) ofαstep- for the decrease of three times, and a value obtained by adding the correction amountαto a lower limit value ATmin is regarded as a target acceleration AT0 used in the inter-vehicle distance control, though a computed value of the target acceleration AT0 is guarded by the lower limit value ATmin. Therefore, the driver can get an acceleration degree higher than the upper limit ATmax by operating the acceleration switch SW, for example when the driver moves to a passing lane from a traveling lane, and desires the quick acceleration control.</p>
