PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform control of an intake air quantity by desired responsiveness. SOLUTION: In this device for controlling an intake air quantity through control of the closing timing of an intake valve, a demand air quantity TLGQH0 to be controlled with low response is discriminated from a demand air quantity to be controlled with high response. After delay treatment on the demand air quantity TLGQH0 is executed, the demand quantity is added to a demand air quantity on which the delay treatment is not applied and which is controlled with high response to calculate a final demand air quantity FQH0ST, and a closing timing IVC of the intake valve is calculated according to the demand air quantity FQH0ST. |
