PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic brake device for a vehicle capable of conveying a suitable pedal operating feel to the driver. SOLUTION: The pressure of brake fluid in a control chamber is built up by the advance of a control piston 33 (spool valve 35), and hydraulic pressure within a power chamber adds an assisting force to the force of operating a brake pedal 10. According to the assisting force, brake fluid in a pressure chamber is compressed to output the brake hydraulic pressure. When the hydraulic pressure of the brake fluid in the control chamber is greater than a predetermined pressure, a reaction disc 39 is elastically deformed by hydraulic pressure within a reaction chamber R5 to cause sliding movement of a reaction rod 38 to vary the balance of forces acting on the control piston 33 so as to reduce the gradient of pressure buildup of the brake fluid within the control chamber R4 and also to reduce the assisting force for the force of operating the brake pedal 10, the assisting force being produced by the hydraulic pressure within the power chamber R1. The reaction rod 38 is positioned within a rod compartment 38 so as to be always brought into abutting relation with the reaction disc 39 by the energizing force of a coil spring 90. |
