PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an auxiliary for dewaxing, capable of much increasing filtration rate compared with conventionals and improving productivity in a dewaxing process. SOLUTION: This auxiliary comprises an alkyl (meth)acrylate-based polymer, and is used for solvent dewaxing of a wax-containing mineral oil having 20 deg.C to 70 deg.C crystallization starting temperature (ta) and -10 deg.C to -70 deg.C crystallization ending temperature (tb) measured with a differential scanning calorimeter. The polymer has a crystallization starting temperature (Ta) and a crystallization ending temperature (Tb) measured with a differential scanning calorimeter, satisfying the formulae ta+5 deg.C>=Ta>=ta-30 deg.C and tb+5 deg.C>=Tb>=ta-30 deg.C.
