PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a member having a slidable contact surface which is easy in flow of the lubricant and excellent in seizure resistance. SOLUTION: After a steel work W is induction-hardened, the work is either ground or polished to form the rough undulation 18 of <=1.0μm in maximum height. Then, water 40 mixed with glass beads 44 of 10-70μm in diameter is ejected at the pressure of 60-200 MPa to be collided with the work W, and the undulation 16 of >=0.25μm to <1.2μm in mean uneven height with the reference length of 4 mm, >=20μm to <130μm in mean uneven pitch, and <5 in steepness is formed to form the member 10 having the slidable contact surface. The surface having the undulation 16 is formed to be a slidable contact surface 10a.
