PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an avidin particle useful for assays such as an immunoassay, an enzyme assay and an assay of nucleic acid composed by immobilizing avidin or streptavidin. SOLUTION: This avidin particle is characterized by comprising >=30 wt.% of an organic polymeric material and having the particle itself of which the carboxy group is exposed to the surface and at least either of the avidin and the streptavidin immobilized on the surface of the particle itself.
