PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic sintered body capable of reducing the content of O and the content of C in a metallic sintered body by using metal powder containing Ti or a Ti alloy occluding hydrogen and to produce a metallic sintered body. SOLUTION: This producing method, e.g. includes a stage 1 in which a composition having metal powder containing Ti or a Ti alloy occluding hydrogen is produced, a stage 2 in which, to the composition, a formed body is produced, a stage 3 in which the formed body is subjected to degreasing treatment and a stage 4 in which the degreased body is sintered to obtain a metallic sintered body.
