PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary valve having rotor removing and assembling work simplified by a simplified structure and capable of extremely easily adjusting a clearance between the outside diameter of the rotor to be mounted in a valve chamber of a casing and the valve chamber inner wall. SOLUTION: Since a rotor 32 is formed into a tapered shape and an opening part for inserting and drawing the rotor 32 in relation to a valve chamber 31a is formed on the opposite driving side surface of a casing 31, removing and assembling work for the rotor 32 is simplified. A clearance between the outer diameter of the rotor 32 and the inner wall of the valve chamber 31a can be adjusted easily by only a simple work for interposing a detachable adjusting ring 43 having the prescribed thickness between a stepped part 46 of a boss 44 and a stepped part 42 of a drive shaft 40.
