PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber material which has excellent hydrophilicity and cation dye dyeability. SOLUTION: This polyester fiber having hydrophilicity and cation dyeability and the method for producing the polyester fiber, characterized by reacting a polyester fiber with oxalic dichloride by the irradiation of active energy rays to impart the carbonyl chloride groups to the fiber and then hydrolyzing the carbonyl chloride group to impart the carboxyl groups and polyether groups on the surface of the polyester fiber. |
