PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide efficient calculation technology suitable for using it in channel estimation, channel equalization and other signal processing operations. SOLUTION: A signal processing operation is executed on a reception symbol system in a digital communication system receiver. Respective symbols show several information bits. The symbols correspond to points in given modulation constellations, which are generated by rotating regular modulation constellations (QPSK, 16-QAM, 64-QAM, 256-QAM and 1024-QAM) by a prescribed degree (45 degrees, for example). Thus, the specified signal processing operation such as finite impulse response(FIR) filtering, least mean square(LMS) estimation and maximum likelihood(ML) system detection by Viterbi algorithm can be executed without the need of a multiplier by using the rotated constellation. |
