PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically operated flow control valve for use in a refrigerating cycle with ammonia as the cooling medium. SOLUTION: The electrically operated flow control valve 10' has a stainless valve body 11' and a closed case 31', both being bonded through abutment welding. In the closed case 31', a stainless sleeve 34 integrated with a magnet 39 is threaded to a stainless fixed guide 40. The sleeve 34 controls the opening of a flow passage spaced to a valve seat 12 by vertical movement of a valve stem 20.
