PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for treating a belt-like metal sheet by which the belt-like metal sheet for color CRT such as a shadow mask and an aperture grille and the belt-like metal sheet for semi-conductor device such as a lead frame are uniformly treated while reducing the occupied space of the apparatus. SOLUTION: The cleaning solution L is fed from a nozzle part 130 to a treatment surface S of the shadow mask W to be guided and carried by rollers 121, 122 and 123, and a pair of solution guide plates 141 and 142 having a guide surface and solution guide plate 143 and 144 are provided at the position across the treatment surface S. The guide surfaces 141a, 142a, 143a and 144a of the solution guide plates 141, 142, 143 and 144 are provided facing and close to the treatment surface S to guide the cleaning solution L from the nozzle part 130 in the direction along the treatment surface S.
