PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a colored canvas capable of easily responding correctly to both sensors of a reflection light type sensor for detecting a paper break and a reflection light type sensor for detecting the meandering of the canvas. SOLUTION: This dryer canvas is used in a dryer part of a papermaking machine equipped with the reflection light type sensors as a paper break- detecting means and canvas meandering-detecting means and having the above detecting means using the same or different light source wave lengths for each of the reflection light type sensors, and is provided by coloring the ear parts of the canvas with a hue having >=60% reflecting ratio and the central part of the canvas with a hue having <=20% reflecting ratio in the case of measuring the hues by using a spectroscopic measuring device in 380-780 nm wave length zone of the spectroscopic reflection curve.
