PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame retardant resin composition excellent in strength and touch feeling of a molded product without an unpleasant smell emitted during molding processing and use of the molded product while maintaining excellent flame retardance. SOLUTION: This flame retardant resin composition comprises an inorganic anion exchanger, red phosphorus and a resin. Problems can be solved by using the resin composition prepared by compounding the components in specific ratios. A compound having a hydrotalcite structure and its baked material are preferred as the inorganic anion exchanger and a zinc-aluminum hydrotalcite and its baked material are especially preferred. The resin molded product produced from the composition is excellent in flame retardance without occurring unpleasant smell during the molding and use of the molded product and is good in surface properties. Thereby, the resin composition is useful for wide applications such as molded products used especially in the interior of rooms, fibers, automotive products, etc.
