PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application program interface(API) to execute and control multimedia elements to a rendering engine by a rendering module. SOLUTION: This API includes a set up function which can be called by the rendering engine, to initialize communications between the rendering module and a remote server and to instruct the rendering module to start retrieval of data streams from a remote server and further includes a remaintime function which can be called by the rendering module and to instruct the remaining time to the rendering engine before completion of the rendering of the multimedia elements by the rendering module. |
