PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven power steering device preventing over- assisting of steering torque and preventing impairing of a steering feel when such an abnormality as over-assisting the steering torque is detected. SOLUTION: The device comprises a means 5 for determining a command value energized to a motor 3 according to steering torque 1 and vehicle speed 2, a means 6 for detecting the current flowing in the motor 3, a means 22 for feeding back the detected current value and computing a control value according to the detected current value and the current command value so as to pass the motor current, a means 8 for outputting a control signal according to the control value so that the desired current is passed, a means 25 for detecting any abnormality in the current detecting means 6; and a limiting means 23 for limiting the control value when any abnormality is detected. |
