PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can easily select a file desired by a user by retrieving the file according to the retrieval condition designated by the user and selecting only the file in matching with the retrieval condition for an object file for reproduction or deletion. SOLUTION: This electronic camera, equipped with a display device 4, is provided with an entry means that enters retrieval conditions, a means that retrieves file information in a recording medium 2, and a means that stores information such as a file name of a file in matching with the retrieval condition. The file which is in matching with the retrieval condition designated by the user is retrieved on the basis of the file information of the file recorded in the recording medium 2, and only the file in matching with the retrieval condition is selected for the object of a reproduction file.
