PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient and inexpensive method for producing a double oriented silicon steel sheet in which the accumulation degree of the 100}<001> texture is high. SOLUTION: Steel containing 0.020 to 0.20% C and containing Si and Mn so as to satisfy the relational inequalities of (Si+0.5Mn)<=5.0 and (Si-0.5Mn)>=1.5 is subjected to hot rolling to a thickness of <=2.5 mm and is subjected to cold rolling which does not include process annealing at a draft of 30 to 80% to a thickness of <=0.50 mm, and with a separation agent for annealing containing decarburization promoting substance or decarburization promoting substance and Mn removal promoting substance interposed on the space between the cold rolled steel sheets, annealing is executed. It is more preferable that lubrication rolling is executed in such a manner that the friction coefficient between rolling rolls and the steel sheets is controlled to <=0.15 at the time of the hot rolling, or the steel sheet after the hot rolling is subjected to annealing of executing heating to the recrystallization temperature or more and is subsequently subjected to cold rolling. |
