PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adaptive array antenna used in a radio communication system by simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: Relating to this adaptive array antenna, the phase shift amount of one of plural phase shift means is setting-changed to a value for which the phase shift amount set at present is increased by a prescribed angle and then setting-changed to the value for which the phase shift amount set at present is decreased by the prescribed angle. The strength change of synthesized reception signals at the time is detected by a signal strength detection means, a partial differential coefficient to the phase shift amount of an evaluation function is obtained by using only the detected strength change of the reception signals and phase control based on the partial differential coefficient to the phase shift amount of the evaluation function is performed by the simple circuit constitution without using signals for respective antenna elements. The prescribed angle can be 90 degrees to put it concretely. Also, a differential coefficient to real number weight based on a steepest lowering method can be obtained by adopting real number weight control. |
