PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air belt device capable of hastening the initial restraint of an occupant and reducing the loss of gas during deployment. SOLUTION: The air belt device has a bag 31 folded into a strip and inflated when gas is introduced therein from one end thereof. The bag 31 is provided with a vent hole 61 which opens to vent the gas when gas pressure within the bag 31 attains a predetermined value. Since little gas leaks out of the bag before the vent hole 61 opens, the bag is quickly inflated.
