PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector equipped with a cooling structure capable of efficiently cooling an electrooptical device and coping with the high luminance of a light source lamp or the miniaturization of the device or the like. SOLUTION: An outside case 2 whose upper part is opened is provided with an air intake 240 on its upper surface, and the electrooptical device 925 is provided with a cooling fan 17 introducing cooling air from the air intake 240 to the inside of the device 1 on its upper part. There is no limit in the quantity of the introduced air, and the cooling air sufficient enough to cool the device 925 is easily made to blow to the device 925. Thus, the device 925 is efficiently cooled, and the cooling structure capable of coping with the high luminance of the light source lamp 181 or the miniaturization of the device 1 can be obtained.
