PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dyeing plastic lens by which dyeing of various gradation forms can be obtained and the dyeing of the gradation forms free of unevenness in finishing can be easily obtained, and a dyed lens obtained by using this method. SOLUTION: This method has a step of applying dyeing material which dissolves a sublimable dyes or disperses it in a minute particule state onto a substrate in accordance with color data set by an electronic computer in such a manner that dye density changes, a step of arranging the coated surface of the substrate coated with the dyeing material so as to face the plastic lens without contact therewith and step of subjecting the plastic lens surface to dyeing having a concentration gradient by heating the substrate to sublime the sublimable dye and bringing the sublimable dye into contact with the plastic lens.
