PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for feeding a container capable of surely taking box-shaped containers vertically piled up out of a lower side of a container inputting chute one at a time and feeding to a next process with a filling machine and the like. SOLUTION: When the lowest box-shaped container 1 is taken out of the container inputting chute 5, the whole box-shaped containers vertically piled up are loaded and fixed to a limited position by a container backing plate 7, and side walls of the second lowest box-shaped container 1 are simultaneously pressed and held from four directions by first pressing tools 8a, 8b and second pressing tools 12a, 12b, and under this condition, the container backing plate 7 is retreated. After the lowest box-shaped container 1 is drawn downward by a container drawing mechanism 11 and loaded on container loading stands 9a, 9b, the lowest box-shaped container 1 is pushed out onto a belt conveyer 3 by a container pushing out mechanism 12.
