PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating apparatus for power load switchgear that is intended for the improvement in transfer efficiency of force and intended for size reduction. SOLUTION: Rotary motion from the drive shaft 1b of a driving mechanism 1 is transmitted to a operating member 9 fixed to the output shaft 6 as the rotary motion as is, without conversion into a linear motion through input spar gears 3, a cylindrical roller 5, a rotary lever 7 and the like. Transmission of motion between the cylindrical roller 5 and rotary lever 7 is conducted, by making the side face of the cylindrical roller 5 contact with a closed cam hole 6 provided on the rotary lever 7.
