Also in Divisions B2 and C1] A copy-receiving sheet comprising a supporting web such as paper coated on one surface with fine particles of oil-absorptive, inorganic mineral material, the particles being individually coated at least in part with an organic, acidic, oilsoluble polymeric material which is reactive with a colourless, basic, chromogenic ink to produce a colour, is placed in a manifold system under a transfer sheet carrying the chromogenic material (e.g. crystal voilet lactone) dissolved in an oily solvent retained as droplets in pressure-rupturable, microscopic polymeric capsules. The colourless ink in the capsules is released by writing or typing pressures and produces a coloured mark on the copy-receiving sheet by reaction with the acidic polymer reactant coated thereon. The mineral particles may be of kaolin, zinc oxide, CaCO 3 , attapulgite or silton clay and are coated with p-chlorophenol, p - phenylphenol -, p - t - butylphenol- or p - octylphenol - formaldehyde resin or a mixture thereof or one of the acidic polymers listed in Specification 1,065,587.</p> |
