PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery composed of a graphite negative electrode, having a high charging/discharging efficiency, a good cycle characteristic, a nice preservation characteristic, and a high energy density by suppressing decomposition of the electrolyte in the nonaqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery to a minimum extent. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte rechargeable battery composed of a negative electrode which contains at least a graphite as being able to store and release lithium as negative electrode material, a positive electrode, and an electrolyte in which a lithium salt is dissolved in a nonaqueous solvent, wherein the nonaqueous solvent is a mixed nonaqueous solvent which includes ethylene carbonate and an unsymmetrical chain-like carbonate, and the mixed nonaqueous solvent contains 0.01-5 wt.% of cyclic-sulfonic ester. |
